Buck Memorial Library hires a Director
Lisa Ladd has been visiting and dreaming of moving to the Bucksport area for many years. A California native, she has resided in the Upper Connecticut River Valley for the past thirty-two years in Thetford Center, Vermont. She has worked in four different library positions at Dartmouth, the latest as the Library Supervisor of the Kresge Physical Sciences Library.
She recently graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville School of Information Science with her Master of Science degree and received the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity badge. Her concentration of study was youth and public librarianship. She completed a research study on diversity in small rural public library collections for which she was interviewed and will be featured in the Spring issue of the Young Adult Library Service Association.
She is an active member of a book group that has been meeting for over fifteen years together, and recently read the Thursday Murder Club. She loves discovering new bookstores and her partner Charlie willingly builds her bookcases in exchange for one of her homemade pies or a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies.
Lisa looks forward to meeting patrons and becoming familiar with all that Bucksport has to offer. She is excited to share the books she loves and learn from others what they have been reading in return.
