Home Instruction in Maine : Maine parents may choose to educate their children at home. Parents take full responsibility for the child while providing home instruction — they legally direct the child's education by choosing the curriculum, facilitating the process, and determining academic needs. Home instruction is funded exclusively by the parent.
Homeschoolers of Maine : Homeschoolers of Maine (HOME) is the premier non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting homeschooling in the State of Maine.

New Ventures Maine : New Ventures provides free classes and individual coaching to help people find good jobs, start or return to college, launch small businesses, manage their money and build their assets.
RSU 25 (Regional School Unit) : Regional School Unit 25 proudly serves the member communities of Bucksport, Orland, Prospect, and Verona Island. RSU 25 provides educational programming for approximately 1075 students in grades PK-12 as well as offering a full service Adult Education program. RSU 25, in partnership with our communities, is committed to meeting the needs of all learners in our district.
Ebird : eBird began with a simple idea—that every birdwatcher has unique knowledge and experience. Their goal is to gather this information in the form of checklists of birds, archive it, and freely share it to power new data-driven approaches to science, conservation and education. At the same time, they develop tools that make birding more rewarding. From being able to manage lists, photos and audio recordings, to seeing real-time maps of species distribution, to alerts that let you know when species have been seen, they strive to provide the most current and useful information to the birding community.

Great Backyard Bird Count : Each February, for four days, the world comes together for the love of birds. Over these four days people spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting them. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations. Their goal is to bring these stories of change together to reveal new understanding of patterns, change, and connectedness across our region.

Zooniverse : The Zooniverse is the world's largest platform for people-powered research. We connect professional researchers with millions of volunteers worldwide. Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) for Hancock County : The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income older adults, 60 years of age or older, by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. These 30-pound monthly food boxes include a variety of shelf stable grocery items such as juice, shelf-stable milk, cereal, peanut butter, canned protein, pasta or rice, assorted canned goods, and a two-pound block of cheese.

H.O.M.E. Inc. : H.O.M.E. Inc. honors the dignity of people experiencing challenging times by providing safe shelte and other critical resources in a vibrant and mutually supportive community. Located in Orland, ME.
Maine General Assistance : General Assistance helps individuals and families to meet their basic needs. This may include help paying for: household or personal supplies (toiletries, cleaning supplies); food; housing (e.g., mortgage, rent, room rent, temporary housing); fuel & utilities; medical, dental, prescriptions, medical supplies/equipment; burial costs.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) : The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides a monthly benefit to help low-income households purchase nutritious food.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) : TANF provides cash assistance to families while they work towards becoming self-sufficient. Once enrolled in TANF you may also be eligible for help receiving job training and education.
Acadia National Park : Acadia National Park protects the natural beauty of the highest rocky headlands along the Atlantic coastline of the United States, an abundance of habitats, and a rich cultural heritage. At 4 million visits a year, it's one of the top 10 most-visited national parks in the United States. Visitors enjoy 27 miles of historic motor roads, 158 miles of hiking trails, and 45 miles of carriage roads.

Bucksport Historical Society : Located within the 1874 railroad station, the museum exhibits artifacts from local history.
Bucksport Paper Mill Museum : The Bucksport Paper Mill Museum is housed at the former mill gatehouse located at 4 Mariner Way in Bucksport. It sits at the entrance to the former paper mill. The museum contains an extensive collection of artifacts donated by former mill workers and their families. The space will also offer educational programs and events.

Fort Knox & Penobscot Narrow Observatory : The Fort Knox Historic Site features one of the best-preserved examples of coastal defense fortifications constructed in the mid-1800s. It is America's first fort named after Major General Henry Knox. The Penobscot Narrows Observatory is the tallest bridge observatory open to the public in the world. Visitors to the observatory ride Maine's fastest elevator up 420' feet for breathtaking 360-degree views of the Penobscot Bay area.

Wabanaki Alliance : In June of 2020 the tribes in Maine (Mi’kmaq Nation, Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, Passamaquoddy Tribe and Penobscot Nation) formed the Wabanaki Alliance. The Wabanaki Alliance was formed to educate people of Maine about the need for securing sovereignty of the tribes in Maine.
